Foundation for a Green Future is looking for an intern who will help with going around the Boston community and spreading the word about Boston GreenFest, recruiting volunteers, attending community meetings, and putting up flyers. The role is crucial for gaining interest in our main event, Boston GreenFest, as well as some other events that the Foundation organizes. The internship will be unpaid but may be counted towards class credit.
Boston Greenfest is the region's largest multicultural environmental music festival that will be on August 11th-13th. Our goal is to inform EVERYONE as to the many ways green living can make a positive impact on our world, city, neighborhoods and each of us. ResponsibilitiesGoing door to door to the local businesses and talking about the upcoming event.
Going to local businesses to pass out flyers, talk to the patrons, and recruit volunteers.
Make phone calls to community members
Provide administrative support for the foundation
Attend community meetings and events
Connecting to social media, farmers markets, churches, etc.
RequirementsInterested in communications, non-profit, community outreach
A love for their community and getting involved
Excellent communication and people skills
Able to walk business to business, or has a means of transportation
Dedicated and passionate about the environment and getting the community involved.
