Work for Progress is a non-profit dedicated to strengthening other non-profits and their campaigns by finding smart, passionate people and connecting them to the jobs where they can make a difference on issues they care about! Work for Progress partners with citizen-based advocacy organizations that looks for solutions to help the environment, consumers, and to expand voting rights. This upcoming elections Work for Progress is partnering with a few groups to make a difference. We are hiring Canvass Directors for The Community Voters Project- a non partisan effort to register voters in under represented communities. We are also hiring Election Canvass Directors to run offices that will persuade and motivate voters in key districts to vote for candidates who will fight for the environment and getting big money out of politics!

We need a detail-oriented, recruitment intern who enjoys interacting with people and who wants to learn about recruiting candidates for multiple organizations. Skills learned include: posting to job boards, recruiting alumni and current students, entry-level graphic design, and building up a social media presence.

Work for Progress, a political advocacy organization, is looking for a spring intern for our Washington DC location. This is an unpaid internship, so we are willing to help you receive class credit in exchange for your hours. This is an educational internship, so you should be learning skills about advocacy, writing, research, human resources, and communications as part of this internship.

Interns should be interested in making progressive change or passionate about political issues and interested in learning necessary skills for recruiting.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

- Post job descriptions to multiple job boards
- Use social media to reach potential candidates
- Data entry
- Learn and utilize a large database with sensitive information
- Compile weekly numbers tracking sources of applications
