DescriptionFreeing American Children from Exploitation and Sexual Slavery is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the care of young girls who have been rescued from sex trafficking and slavery here in the United States. We provide a loving, caring, family atmosphere that will meet the following needs for these children: food, shelter, clothing, education, social/life skills training, medical, life planning, and liaison to legal services.
We also collaborate with other agencies to provide additional services including, but not limited to, counseling, equine therapy, art classes, and social outings. At FACESS, our desire is to restore to these children the life and childhood that was stolen from them.
Interns will gain an understanding of how the organization operates caring for the girls on a day-to-day basis. They will learn how to serve and love on the girls and will be a part of a community of people passionate about seeing their lives restored.
Please note: For security purposes the location listed is our corporate office. The actual intern position is located 10 hours from the corporate office.
ResponsibilitiesInterns work alongside full-time staff and with students learning how to properly work with victims of child sex trafficking. Areas of supervision and support in which interns may assist staff are: interpersonal communication, education, daily chores, spiritual growth, life-skills development, and family relationships.
Interns receive a $200 monthly stipend. Room and board is provided. Internships can be customized to meet university requirements.
Please note: Due to the nature of the internship, interns must successfully complete a probationary training period before working directly with the girls.
RequirementsFACESS is looking for spiritually mature, Christian females whose faith is founded on Biblical principles and who have a heart for ministering to the girls. Applicants must have great communication skills, be teachable and a team player.
FACESS internships have a 3 month minimum time commitment and a maximum commitment of 1 year.
