Founded in 1947, Interfaith Social Services is dedicated to improving life for South Shore families and individuals in need. Our unique approach relies on a team of volunteers, donors and community partners to deliver compassionate, client-centered programs focused on hunger, mental health and emergency assistance.

The fall season is the busiest time of the year for many nonprofit organizations. Each year our food pantry assists thousands of disadvantaged families through the Halloween Costume Drive, Thanksgiving Meal and Help for the Holiday programs. The Food Pantry intern works directly with the Food Pantry Manager to oversee client intake, coordination with donors, program promotion, liaison with community contacts, volunteer management and overall distribution of services.
Time commitment: 10 hours a week starting in early September through December 2017. This position reports directly to the Food Pantry Manager.
This internship is eligible for a stipend of $575. Interested applicants may send a resume and cover letter to Eileen Kelly, Food Pantry Manager at ekelly@interfaithsocialservices.org. Please include the job title which you are applying for in the subject field of the email.

The Food Pantry Intern must be an individual with exceptional organizational ability and a strong desire to serve those in need. The applicant must feel extremely comfortable speaking on the phone and one on one with clients, donors and business contacts.
