DescriptionThe Y is dedicated to building programs for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility that promote strong families, character values, youth leadership, community development and international understanding. The Y makes accessible the support and opportunities that empower people and communities to learn, grow, and thrive by providing supportive and inclusive environments that nurture the potential of every youth and teen, improves the nation’s health and well-being and provides opportunities to give back and support neighbors. This internship will take place at the Program Services Branch responsible for district-wide programming that offers child care services and free community programs. The Communications and Outreach intern will report directly to the Outreach and Resource Coordinator.
ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning and Coordination
Volunteer Recruitment and Outreach
Assist with the administration of the Financial Assistance Program.
Review and award qualifying families through the Financial Assistance Program.
Assist with the collection of family testimonials intended for marketing/communication purposes.
Research strategies to effectively coordinate the Financial Assistance, Workforce, and Third-Party Programs.
Compare and contrast community organizations with the YMCA to further improve internal processes.
Assist with minor marketing/communication responsibilities.
Operate office machines, filing, and other duties as assigned.
RequirementsHigh School Diploma
College Experience Preferred
