DescriptionNew GateWay Solutions is a small Christ-centered nonprofit organization located in Chula Vista, California, dedicated to helping the unemployed and underemployed return to sustainable employment. We offer several solutions for our growing clientele: Career Solutions, Business Startup Solutions, and Technology Solutions.
The Grant Writing/fundraising Intern will be responsible for assisting the organization in developing the program description, putting together the package required by grantors, submitting the grants, assisting in generating new fundraising campaigns and following up.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare grant proposals
Research available grants
Become familiar with New GateWay's programs, goals, financial needs and potential funding sources
Compile information, compose and send proposals.
Keep careful records to track proposals
Develop corporate fundraising programs, such as corporate gift-matching
Monitor progress of fundraising drives.
Develop and maintain media contact lists
Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions
Secure commitments of participation or donation from individuals or corporate sponsors for fundraising events
Prepare materials for charitable events, such as fundraising envelopes, bid sheets, or gift bags
Create or update donor databases
Write and send letters of thanks to donors
Any other grant writing or fundraising tasks which may be assigned.
Requirements Have completed at least 1 year of college (preferred)
Have access to reliable transportation
Excellent writing, editing and research skills
Ability to work in a flexible, fun, and strongly team-oriented environment
Able to work independently and take initiative when necessary
Must be able to prioritize, be dependable, and manage projects
Strong organization and time management skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and desire to learn new software
