DescriptionAssist a New York City educator as they take their students on a global, online journey via our Global Learning Leaders program! Volunteering with RTW as a Global Learning Leader (GLL) provides a substantive, engaging opportunity to integrate global competence programming into the curriculum of under-served public elementary, middle school, and high school classrooms.

Reach the World makes the benefits of travel accessible to classrooms, inspiring students to become curious, confident global citizens. Enabled by our digital platform, classrooms and college student travelers explore the world together.
Reach the World provides direct programming to school, afterschool and summer school sites in New York City, and online programming to sites nationwide. The National Geographic Society Education Foundation named RTW a Model Program in Geography Education and the HP Catalyst Initiative named RTW a world innovator in STEM+ education.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Global Learning Leader you will:
-Be trained by RTW to serve as a global educator in a public school
-Work one or two days a week for 12 weeks
-Build your leadership, communication, and planning skills by helping to deliver a high-quality enrichment program to K-12 students
-Receive a stipend of $350 to $500 for your work
• Highly motivated undergraduate or graduate students majoring in education or a related field
• Passion for Reach the World’s mission
• Interest in working in underserved communities
• Tutoring or K-12 classroom experience
• Proactive and comfortable taking initiative
• Flexible and creative problem solvers
• Strong written, verbal, and inter-personal communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Skype
