DescriptionBig Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass/Metrowest (BBBS CM/MW) has helped transform the lives of more than 30,000 children facing adversity over the past 52 years. BBBS CM/MW provides strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with responsible, caring, adult mentors who change their lives for the better, forever. Presently, BBBS CM/MW serves approximately 950 youth in 40 communities throughout Central Massachusetts and Metrowest Boston.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Mass/Metrowest is seeking a self-motivated, organized individual. with excellent writing skills, to join our team as a Grant Writing Intern. This position will be an important part of the development team of a medium-sized nonprofit agency.
Essential functions of the position:
Prospect identification, research, proposal development and writing in conjunction with development staff
Track and document communications
Assist with updating and maintaining donor database
Research potential major donor prospects
Assist with donor outreach and cultivation
Part-time unpaid Internship: Approximately 10 hours/week
Organization and creative problem solving abilities
Must be able to work independently and efficiently
Strong writing skills
Interest in learning about non-profit organizations and mentoring
Ability to quickly learn new software
