DescriptionNew GateWay Solutions is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization located in Chula Vista, California, that has been set up specifically to help the unemployed and underemployed find jobs or start businesses and to stabilize those on the brink of homelessness. We offer four solutions for those referred to us: Career Solutions, Business Startup Solutions, Training Solutions, and Technology Solutions. Currently, we provide services for 83 employment seekers and 8 Startup businesses.
The Grant Writing Intern will be responsible for researching grant opportunities and being able to organize and develop the material required by grantors.
Responsibilities Research available grants and prepare grant proposals
Become familiar with the New GateWay’s programs, goals, financial needs and potential funding sources
Compile information, compose and send proposals.
Keep careful records to track proposals
Develop and maintain media contact lists
Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions
Develop and maintain contact with donors
Secure commitments of participation or donation from individuals or corporations
Create or update donor databases
Write and send letters of thanks to grantors and donors
Any other grant writing which may be assigned
Requirements• One year of college education
• Formal Training or Education in Grant Writings preferred
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Proficient Microsoft Office Skills
• Proficient researching skills
• Must be residing within the San Diego area during the course of the internship and must be able to work from our office located in Chula Vista, CA
