DescriptionAtlantic Institute is a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-governmental and non-partisan organization that was formed as a spin-off of the Istanbul Center with a centralized focus on dialogue, education and community outreach.
Atlantic Institute organizes various interfaith, academic and educational programs that work to bring communities together and build bridges across different cultures.
We are currently looking for interns for 2016 Spring/Summer.
Upon the completion of their term, interns are asked to evaluate their learning experience and reflect on their own performance. Upon completion of the internship, each participating intern receives a certificate and becomes eligible for attending Atlantic Institute’s luncheons, lectures and leadership programs free of charge for a year.
ResponsibilitiesInternships are unpaid, one semester long, and renewable. Interns should try to commit to at least 10 hours of voluntary work per week. Schedules are flexible.
Academic and Educational Interns will potentially: assist the Executive Assistant in research, writing, and planning events and/or aid in the planning of the annual Art & Essay Contest.
Interns may also be asked to attend events to work after-hours as needed depending on programming schedules. Most events are held during the week; however, there is always the possibility of an event during the weekend. While interns are attending our events, they are reminded that they represent the Atlantic Institute organization and to behave in a professional and respectful manner.
RequirementsInterns are required to perform a variety of duties. Although interns may work for a specific department/department head or program, all should be well-rounded in their work and abilities, be readily able and willing to help with any full-time staff member and his or her department.
