The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation's blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
The American Red Cross offers exceptional undergraduate and graduate students internship opportunities at our Red Cross national headquarters in Washington, D.C. and in chapters across the country through our Internship Program. Interns are matched with a specific department where they work on advancing critical projects.
The Intern, Business Consulting is an Unpaid Internship where candidates must be enrolled in a degree program at the time of the internship. The opportunity is based in Washington DC.
• Undergraduate or graduate student studying analytical degrees, such as Finance, Economics, Math or Statistics. Preference would be given to rising seniors or higher, though all class years are encouraged to apply.
• Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills are required. Experience with databases and data mining software would be a plus. Working fluency in English is required with an ability to communicate complex concepts with clear terminology and professionalism.
• The Business Consulting Intern in the Decision Support group will develop analytical models to calculate the financial impacts of business scenarios and develop compelling presentations to share insights with multiple levels of leadership. Project engagements may include cost-benefit analyses, scenario testing, revenue target setting, market/competitor analysis, benchmarking, and metrics reviews. Areas of support are organization-wide, including Biomedical Services and Health & Safety Services. The Intern will work on projects alongside other full time Business Consultants in the Business Planning & Decision Support department, within Finance.
Candidates will be considered for the summer 2016 semester – June through August
• 40 hours/week
