The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation's blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The American Red Cross offers exceptional undergraduate and graduate students internship opportunities at our Red Cross national headquarters in Washington, D.C. and in chapters across the country through our Internship Program. Interns are matched with a specific department where they work on advancing critical projects.
The Intern, Field Fundraising and Marketing Resources is an unpaid internship where candidates must be enrolled in a degree program at the time of the internship. The opportunity is based in Washington, D.C.
• Undergraduate junior or above student studying Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related
• Ability to juggle multiple deliverables and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to engage and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders, both in-person and virtually
• Experience with communications or marketing preferred
The Intern, Field Fundraising and Marketing Resources will be supporting specific projects related to fundraising communications, including resources that are donor facing. This will include partnering with other business groups across Fundraising and within the Red Cross to identify critical information needed by fundraisers and donors (including statistics, stories, data, budgets) and ensuring that this information is categorized and communicated in an effective way. This can also include identifying means to gather feedback from fundraisers and other stakeholders (research, focus groups, surveys) to support decision-making about fundraising resources. Other project work will be included over the course of the internship.
Candidates will be considered for the summer 2016 semester.
