The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation's blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The American Red Cross offers exceptional undergraduate and graduate students internship opportunities at our Red Cross national headquarters in Washington, D.C. and in chapters across the country through our Internship Program. Interns are matched with a specific department where they work on advancing critical projects.
The Intern, Gift Planning is an Unpaid Internship where candidates must be enrolled in a degree program at the time of the internship. The opportunity is based in New York, NY.
• Undergraduate Sophomore student and above enrolled in a degree program in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or related
• This internship will involve a significant amount of reporting and analysis, so knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required. SalesForce is our Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) and this experience is preferred.
Gift Planning Intern assists Gift Planning Officer (GPO) manage large MS Excel lists of incoming prospects, field calls and help pre-screen which prospects should be approached first by the GPO. The Gift Planning Intern assists the GPO continuously discover new prospects willing to put the Red Cross in their Will or estate plan. Also individuals willing to fund a planned gift between $10k to $1mil. Unlike Major Gift Officers who cultivate the same people year after year, the GPO is looking for new donors willing to plan a legacy to benefit our mission.
Candidates will be considered for the summer 2016 semester.
