DescriptionThe American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation's blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a not-for-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
The American Red Cross offers exceptional undergraduate and graduate students internship opportunities at our Red Cross national headquarters in Washington, D.C. and in chapters across the country through our Internship Program. Interns are matched with a specific department where they work on advancing critical projects.
The Aquatic Product team oversees the development and performance of a suite of Red Cross preparedness health and safety programs including Lifeguarding, Learn-to-Swim, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Aquatic Examiner Service. We collaborate with the PHSS sales, customer support, finance and marketing teams daily to support the sales and delivery of Aquatic training delivered by over 14,000 partner organizations nationwide.
The Intern, Product Development (Aquatics) is a Paid Internship where candidates must be enrolled in a degree program at the time of the internship. The opportunity is based in Fairfield, NJ.
• Undergraduate sophomore or above Pre-Med or Nursing
• MS Word/Excel/SABA LMS/ Graph analysis
• Language: English
• American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification required (must have this certification at the time of applying for position)
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification required (must have this certification at the time of applying for position)
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor certification preferred
The Intern will be responsible for supporting the Aquatic Product Team in the review, production and release of 31 courses within the Lifeguarding program suite.
Content review to ensure consistency with ECC guidelines and SAC recommendations
Review of supporting program materials, including Fact Sheets and new course outlines
Practical skills activity combined with written content to review to validate course flow
Candidates will be considered for the summer 2016 semester.
