DescriptionHere’s an exciting opportunity to get involved with one of Houston’s most unique culturally focused charity organizations!
The Texan-French Alliance for the Arts (TFAA) is a Houston-based non-profit organization devoted to bridging cultures, communities, and art both in Texas and France. Our creative programs aim to improve the quality of life in our cities and local communities using art, education and community outreach, along with other disciplines, as a catalyst to create positive change.
We are seeking interns to assist TFAA in non-profit activities. The commitment would be for a minimum of 3 months from the start date which is flexible (but 6 months is preferred).
ResponsibilitiesIntern duties and responsibilities:
• Tasks might include: managing the website(s) and social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.); graphic design; typing and sending correspondence and other communication materials to members and prospective members; preparing documents for internal and external presentations; writing and sending newsletters to our contact lists; communication with TFAA's business partners, which include most of the major art institutions in Houston and the French Consulate Office; attending Development (fundraising) and Programming Committee Meetings (recommended but not obligatory); general support of the varied activities related to TFAA supported events; public relations support and grant writing.
• Reports to the Executive Director.
Requirements• The individual should have some knowledge of French language and/or culture (native speaker would be even better).
• The intern should know (or be willing to learn) how to manage a WordPress website.
