Description

Caritas Family Solutions is a non-profit agency that specializes in Foster Care, Adoption, and Social Services. We provide numerous programs across 42 counties of Southern Illinois. Our Marketing and Special Events Intern will assist in developing a robust regional Marketing strategy, writing press releases, assisting with planning and executing agency special events, utilizing donor database software, and assisting with the grant writing process. Interns will have the opportunity to shadow and train with employees in all areas of Non-Profit Development, a field which includes Marketing and Communications, Grant Writing, Special Events, Donor Relations, and Volunteer Programs.

Responsibilities

Day to day tasks in this position will be highly varied. Caritas Family Solutions prides itself on having an active and dynamic Development Team consistently working on multiple projects. Duties for the position include, but are not limited to:

-Writing press releases
-Traveling with staff to regional events
-Writing copy for marketing materials
-Assisting in the early stages of event planning, including sponsorship solicitation
-Shadowing employees to gain relevant Development experience
-Searching for grants to broaden the agency's services and resources
-Assisting in writing grants
-Speaking at community outreach events

Requirements

This internship is open to all majors. Applicants should be clear communicators with an ability to write effectively. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors will all be considered for this opportunity.
