DescriptionGlobal Paint for Charity is seeking a dynamic Public Relations and Marketing intern to assist with internal and external marketing and a variety of other tasks and projects. Are you passionate about the world and want to make a difference? Global Paint for Charity is looking for a person with a background in external and internal marketing for nonprofits or sports and entertainment to help us bring awareness about our paint recycling and donation programs, and other programs such as recruiting volunteers for our frequent painting projects for low-income families and homeless in our communities.
The Global Paint for Charity, Inc. (AKA “GPC” or “Global Paint”), a non-profit agency that has existed in Atlanta since 2010 and whose mission it is to help those in financial need with family homes, schools, churches, hospitals and orphanages beautifications and improvements through the donation and recycling of leftover paint. As part of that mission Global Paint for Charity works together with commercial businesses, residential households and other non-profit organizations in an effort to recycle, repackage, and distribute the paint to underserved populations throughout the world, and provides not only the paint but other financial and non-financial aid to targeted communities in 18 developing countries in the Caribbean, Central America, the Middle East and Africa.
ResponsibilitiesAll projects are time-limited and short-term. Many can even be done primarily from home!
Possible projects include:
Writing press releases, media advisories, and articles for internal and external publications
Reviewing performances and interacting with members of the media leading up to and at events
Assist in the execution of surveys
Schedule and coordinate speaking engagements, appearances, photo shoots, and other special events
Interns are required to work at least 16-24 hours per week or as needed to fulfill credit requirements
Develop a public relations plan
Developing an effective PSA
Develop a marketing strategy to raise awareness of the organization in the community at large.
Solicit major donations
Develop an annual report
Marketing development, implementation, and management

Global Paint offers at least 3 internship opportunities per year. We provide these opportunities to students from various Universities/Technical Colleges to explore career paths within the non-profit sector. An internship with us helps not only to develop your professional skills, but also to grow your networking experience.

RequirementsThis Public Relations and Marketing Development position is for an intern candidate who understands the art of persuasion and donor and volunteer cultivation. Applicants should have experience in promoting causes and using social media for marketing and fundraising purposes. Grant writing experience is a plus. The Marketing and Public Relations Intern Candidate will work with our executive staff and Board of Directors to develop marketing materials, cash and inkind resources and new strategies to help build and improve our organization.
Must be enrolled in a full time undergraduate or graduate degree program with the ability to earn credits for this internship
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are must
• Ability to set and adhere to strict deadlines and operate in a fast paced environment
• Prior experience writing for publication is a plus
• An interest or passion for the arts
