DescriptionRoll up your sleeves and get involved with the development of a new and growing organization of social marketers from across North America!
The Social Marketing Association of North America (SMANA), a newly-founded organization, serves the professional needs of social marketers in Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America. Social marketing as a discipline seeks to develop and integrate commercial marketing concepts with other approaches to influence behaviors that benefit individuals and communities for the greater social good. SMANA connects practitioners, academics, and students in the North American social marketing arena in an effort to build a stronger legacy and community of practice. Our focus is to offer value-laden professional benefits to our members while disseminating best practices and behavior change strategies across broad geographic- and topical areas.
SMANA seeks an energetic self-starter to assist in the management of administrative and project-specific tasks. This is a unique opportunity to help grow a newly formed organization and gain experience in a number of areas. As a support to the Executive Committee, you will get first-hand experience at building an organization of professionals and accomplishing engagement activities with membership--all while expanding your social marketing network and strengthening your professional identity. Apply for the internship and let’s grow together!
What you will gain:
Opportunities to problem-solve and be creative
Practical, real-life administrative experiences
Access to social marketers working to make a difference in society
Grow your network of social marketing contacts
Free membership to SMANA and registration/board to the World Social Marketing Conference (>$500 value)
Please send a resume and cover letter. In your cover letter, tell us about yourself and what you would hope to gain from the internship. Discuss what you will bring to the internship and describe situations in the past where your creativity was instrumental in overcoming an obstacle.
