DescriptionTalking Arts Foundation is an artists-led 501c3 whose mission is to foster cross-cultural communication through the development and implementation of music and art education programs in communities where marginalized children, young adults and senior citizens are underrepresented due to their socioeconomic status.
This particular Internship is open to any College/University student within the Tri-State area and involves writing grant proposals in order to keep The T.A.F. properly funded. Along with that, a grant writer may also be asked to assist with fundraising events and other projects within our research division.
Innovative and successful grant writers may be asked to take on a more important role in the corporation and, in the future, may be offered a permanent position.
Note: We are an incredibly new corporation and are still in "start-up" mode. Anyone with interest in Non-Profit or field research is encouraged to apply.
ResponsibilitiesThe Non-Profit Intern is responsible for:
Search and select grants to apply to.
Complete grant proposals.
Submit the completed grant proposal to a Director for editing.
Submit grant proposals.
Keep records of all grant proposals in an orderly database.
The internship position includes but is not limited to: the planning/coordination and execution of events/meetings; marketing/communications; research; office and database management; correspondence; website/social media management; copy-writing/editing; and much more. T.A.F.is looking for dynamic candidates with a high-level of energy. This is a hands-on internship where the intern will have the opportunity to apply their classroom learning. It will require great initiative and aptitude on the part of the candidate, in order to complete a vast array of projects (often independently) related to every aspect of non-profit business operation. The selected intern will have the ability to use their own creativity and experience to help complete assigned projects.
RequirementsBachelor’s degree in marketing, e-marketing, communications, business, digital multimedia, non-profit, or related field.
Previous experience in marketing and communications preferred.
Experience leveraging the web as a communication and transactional tool is essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite is required.
Exhibits acute problem solving abilities, active listening skills, & great attention to detail.
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high-pressure on-call environment with changing priorities.
