Arts to Grow (ATG) is a nonprofit organization that collaborates with New York City metro area public schools and community organizations to provide music, visual arts, theater, dance and literary programs to underserved urban youth. Position Description

Interns for Arts to Grow work closely with our small staff on vital behind-the-scenes projects such as event planning, marketing, and development. We are looking for an intern that can commit a minimum of 6-10 hours weekly on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays for a minimum of two months. Interns work on-site in Arts to Grow's home-office, which is located 25 minutes from mid-town Manhattan and is walking distance from the Grove Street PATH station in the historic Van Vorst Park section of Jersey City.

Responsibilities

Development, Communications/Marketing Job Description

Development - Conduct fundraising research, helping to identify potential prospects; prepare annual appeal letters to be sent to donors and prospects; train on basics of Salesforce software; assist with grant-writing.

Communications/Marketing - Assist in the creation of our email newsletter using Constant Contact; work with Program Assistant in creating marketing materials for our program partners (schools and community organizations); assist with writing and disseminating announcements of ATG events to media outlets, donors and program partners; assist in creating and updating website content; assist with creation of video and photographic documentation of our programs; assist with editing and sharing of photographic documentation of our program on our website and social media outlets.

Social Media Communications - Write blog posts; research and post content on our blog and social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr and YouTube.
