The Performers Academy, an established community leader in the arts, is looking for an intern to join our team and learn the ropes of managing a non-profit organization in the midst of an exciting and impactful schedule. The intern hired for this position should expect to be involved in all aspects of non-profit management.
The benefits to the intern are exciting and important. They include working with a great team of art enthusiasts who care deeply about producing quality work, learning the ins and outs of non-profit management, helping to share the arts with the entire community. In return the intern should bring essential skills to this position: excellent communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to work independently on important projects, and most importantly, a positive attitude and belief in oneself!
• Engage in the process of fundraising and grant applications
• Perform administrative and managerial roles specific to non-profit organizations
• Assist with implementation of new programs
• Assist with analysis of existing programs
• Develop community relations
• Assist in the enrichment of scholarship funds
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills are a must. The ability to pay attention to detail while managing various assignments is important. He or she needs to be able to work independently with minimal supervision. An interest in entering a position in the non-profit sector--the arts, theater, and community outreach--is preferable.
Majors & Academic Requirements
Majors of all kinds are welcome to apply. A 2.5 GPA or higher is strongly favored.
Start Date & Commitment
Seeking an applicant who can start within the month, or as soon as possible. The internship would extend approximately one year (ending February 2017). He or she can expect to be in the office roughly 15-20 hours a week, however the timing is flexible based on class schedule. The office is located at 3674 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207.
