Description

Description: Move For Hunger, a national hunger-relief 501(c)3 organization, seeks a dynamic, self-starter interested in learning about non-profit administration, to assist with development, marketing, event planning, and communications efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of non-profit administration while working for an exciting young award-winning hunger-relief organization.

Compensation: This is an Unpaid/Volunteer internship

Responsibilities


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities will vary from day to day, however possibilities include the following:
• Assist in planning food drives and fundraising events
• Draft, distribute, and pitch press releases, media alerts, and other stories
• Maintain knowledge of current events and trends within hunger relief and food waste fields
• Help with development of social media and website content
• Assist in developing, organizing, and implementing awareness and giving campaigns
• Assist program directors with operational initiatives and member communications

Requirements

Time Commitment
• 2-3 days/week
• Minimum 14 hrs/week

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or graduate level students, or recent college graduates
• Preferred Majors: Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Digital Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, English, Health Studies, Social Work, Public Health, Non-profit Management, Business Administration
• MS Office Proficiency
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Outgoing Personality with outstanding interpersonal skills
• Interest in making a difference in the community
