DescriptionThe FoolProof Foundation believes businesses that profit when consumers spend money are hopelessly conflicted when it comes to supporting the development and teaching of financial literacy.
Yet the businesses that profit the most from consumer spending mistakes provide or underwrite the vast majority of the major financial literacy programs available to individuals or teachers.
FoolProof's core mission is to teach consumers the importance of using caution, questioning sellers, and relying on independent research before spending money.
We use interactive online programs to reach different target groups.
We partner with community organizations and other not-for-profits to help us accomplish our mission and to provide the widest possible exposure to our interactive, online programs.
You can check out our consumer-education material at foolproofme.com.
One piece of funding our non-profit receives is from cy pres, or unclaimed funds from a class action lawsuit. With these funds, we develop resources specifically for the affected parties of the lawsuit.
Your role will be to lead a project looking at current class action lawsuits for opportunities to develop consumer educational resources for the affected parties.
We have been approved for course credit at multiple colleges and universities nationwide. We will be happy to work with your school so you can earn internship credit.
