DescriptionCitySquare is a non-profit that fights the causes and effects of poverty through service, advocacy, and friendship. CitySquare works with those that are homeless, the working poor, and youth aging out of foster care. CitySquare's Thrift Store Associate Intern(s) will gain experience in working with this population, communication, volunteer management, and retail management in a fun social service environment. We are looking for an intern(s) that will jump in and gain experience in all of these areas. Intern(s) will have dedicated desk and flexible schedule. All interns will be expected to adhere to CitySquare's confidentiality agreement and intern code of conduct.
Responsibilities-Help Neighbors with their vouchers from our programs, directing them to the needed items, and helping to process their vouchers
-Help neighbors off-the-street with their needs such as clothing and personal care items, etc, and provide information and directions to the CitySquare Opportunity Center for case management
-Serve as a Brand Ambassador for CitySquare; sharing who we are and what we do, to those that need our help, to our donors, and to our customers and volunteers
-Serve as a welcome point for our volunteers, and help process their paperwork and other forms.
-Very small amount of data entry, perhaps an hour a week.
-Other duties assigned
Requirements- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as a team member
- Ability to communicate at all levels with internal/external clients by phone, email and face to face
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, and Power Point)
- A positive attitude with good organizational, presentation and writing skills
