DescriptionProvidence Intervention Center for Assault and Abuse is a resource for Snohomish County that serves community members victimized by sexual and physical violence and child sexual and physical abuse. Services include a 24 hour crisis line, general, medical and legal advocacy, medical and forensic exams, support group services, community education and outreach and referrals.
The Intervention Center is seeking volunteers who can assist advocates and nurses within our office to manage paperwork such as medical records, filing and data entry. We also need assistance with preparing victim packets for advocates and nurses to use for call outs to the emergency room. Individuals who are interested must commit to one year with the Center and serve a minimum of 8 hours a week (can be one full day or two half days). We are looking for dependable, detailed oriented folks (18 or older) who are looking for an internship. All applicants get to go through a Providence Medical Center background check and sign confidentiality agreements.
Qualified applicants could potentially see and hear difficult cases so please take that into consideration.
The work can be challenging but also very rewarding!
