DescriptionBikes Together/The Bike Depot is Denver's non-profit community bike shop. We are a full-service bike shop whose profits go to support our community programs such as open shop "Fix-Your-Bike" hours, classes, and bike giveaways.
We are expanding to multiple locations, providing an exciting opportunity for a summer internship at Denver's premier non-profit bike shop. You could learn from the best.
ResponsibilitiesYou will: --learn from some of Denver's best and most creative bike mechanics: through classes and by getting your hands dirty
--learn about components and help us sort them
--become an important part of our new processing, shipping, and transportation systems
--work with amazing volunteers as well as staff
--have access to cool, vintage bikes and parts, as well as pro deals on new stuff
--be able to drink a lot of great coffee for free
--become an important part of our growing organization, gaining a range of skills
--have a rad summer!
Please send your resume and a brief letter describing what you would like to learn here and why you're a good fit to Jobs@bikestogether.org. The hours and schedule are flexible.
RequirementsIf you: --love bikes
--want to make sure everyone has access to a bike
--like fixing bikes or want to learn how
--have at least a basic knowledge of hand tools
then we have a great opportunity to help you learn about our interesting bike shop, with a focus on the mechanical aspects of our shop. Whether you are interested in becoming a bike mechanics whiz learning from the best on refurbishing old/used bikes, or you’re more interested in growing the warehouse operations/logistics aspects of our business (social enterprise), we are willing to fit the role to your needs. This is unpaid internship; following the internship, there is ample opportunity to become hired on in our expanding organization.
