DescriptionGlobal Peace Foundation (GPF) is an international peace organization that promotes a proactive peace-building model based on universal principles and shared values as essential resources in creating peaceful communities. GPF delivers programs that promote sustainable peace and development – including youth leadership development, global peace conferences, and a wide variety of development and educational programs in Africa, Latin America, Asia and the United States. We are headquartered in the Washington D.C. area, with over 20 Chapters around the world.
Global Peace Foundation seeks a fall intern for its Organizational Development office. This position serves as administrative and research support, assisting with prospect research, pipeline management, database entry, events management and various projects.
Interns can expect to acquire significant experience with international work in the peace and security field and develop a much-in-demand skill set related to resource development, grant proposal writing/research and events management. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a diverse range of experiences in the many different ways nonprofits acquire resources to fund the mission of the organization.
This internship is unpaid.
Responsibilities♣ Supports implementation of team projects, including research and outreach that drives VIP and partner engagement, stewardship and cultivation programs.
♣ Update prospect database with new contacts, notes, meetings, events, and partnerships
♣ Supports reporting, evaluation and administrative activities
Requirements♣ Available 10-20 hours per week
♣ Strong research, writing and organization skills.
♣ Strong analytic abilities, attention to detail and prompt follow-through.
♣ Ability to meet established deadlines and manage personal to-do list with effective, efficient action.
♣ Computer proficiency and technical skills with an aptitude for learning quickly when coached.
♣ Comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment
♣ International experience and knowledge of/interest in global issues or international affairs a plus.
