Description

The Camden County Police Foundation (CCPF) is looking for an Outreach Intern to help with its fundraising and communication efforts. The CCPF supports the innovative efforts of the Camden County Police Department. Camden has received national attention for its excellent police force, however the programs that make the department a success rely on difficult to find outside fundraising.

This intern will oversee fundraising efforts for the foundation centered on an online fundraising platform. The outreach intern will support CCPF board members in achieving their personal fundraising goals while also using grassroots communications and social media efforts to raise additional funds and awareness for the police force’s projects. The outreach intern should have excellent communication skills and experience creating multimedia content. This position is the first of its kind and needs a dynamic, hard-working and entrepreneurial-minded individual to give it life.

Logistics
• 15-40 flexible hours per week
• $10-$15 an hour and/or course credit available
• Ability to attend meetings and events in Camden, NJ
• Available to rising juniors and seniors
• Reports to project manager
• Work will primarily be remote with some onsite work in Camden, NJ

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities
• Help create campaign message slate
o Identify benchmarks of what $50, $100, $500, $1000 supports
o Write clear descriptions of programs, catchy campaign titles and template messaging
• Maintain an online fundraising site
• Create and maintain social media pages and ads
• Create and maintain calendar of events
• Attend and promote Camden County Police Black Knight events and other community events
• Write press releases, blog posts and other content
• Create and edit multimedia content (photo, video, infographics, signs)
• Support board members in reaching their fundraising goals
o Create and share resources, email templates, customized messaging before their defined fundraising period
o Check-in with board members during their fundraising period
o Survey board members on the successes and failures of their campaign
• Create and oversee plan for grassroots fundraising campaign
o Target student groups, parents, local clubs, business owners and others
o Encourage “teams” to take on own fundraising goals
• Establish and maintain a database of funders and supports
• Create an e-newsletter and implementation plan for newsletter outreach
• Research alternative fundraising options like “text a donation”
• Recruit replacement intern for fall 2016
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Requirements
• Independent worker
• Strong oral and written communicator
• Professional demeanor and comfort working with police officers, community members and high level executives
• Interest in community development, fundraising, non-profits, and/or digital marketing

Ideal Candidate
• Ties to Camden, NJ
• Experience with web development, graphic design and/or video editing
