Description

AARP is seeking a highly organized intern or non-traditional intern to assist the office of the CEO with a comprehensive project of creating an official repository of intellectual properties for our CEO. The position will include cataloguing photographs, organizing speeches and other assets for the CEO, securing appropriate licensing for use of property and working closely with staff and leadership across the enterprise to secure and steward information.

Requirements

DESIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

• Researching, analyzing data to establish photography catalogues according to AARP’s protocols for AARP The Magazine;
• Research and understand AARP’s policies for stewarding its intellectual property;
• Excellent database management skills are required. Project management skills are considered a plus;
• Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills are required;
• The ability to work independently, within teams, and with staff at all levels are important;
• Must work well under pressure and demonstrate a strong professional acumen for this internship;
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills are highly desired;
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, Power Point is required and familiarity with Share Point and the ability to quickly learn new software programs are an added bonus for this internship;
• Most majors will be considered, especially those in Library Science, Research, Photography and Communications;
• Seeking students who are enrolled in accredited colleges or universities, with minimum GPAs of 3.0;

• Two references are required: each from a professor and someone familiar with the intern’s work;
