DescriptionFlight 1 Carriers, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization that deploy innovative disaster response systems to communities in crisis due to natural and man-made disasters. Flight 1 Carriers employs a unique approach to disaster response. Instead of stockpiling materials and supplies in case of emergency; our staff engages in year round distribution of supplies to assist in crisis prevention.
Flight 1 Carriers provide disaster response services through three program areas:
Emergency Deployment Center (EDC)
The EDC collects weatherized supplies, portable shelters, survival equipment, and hygiene supplies for
distribution to areas in need. The EDC will be a resources for State agencies, city municipalities, and local
organizations that are assisting communities and individuals during times of crisis. When a request is made
for EDC supplies our rapid response team will transport materials to the target areas immediately.
F1C food packets
The F1C food packets are a vacuum sealed pack that contain healthy and nutritional food that can be consumed by just adding water. Unlike other food packet products that contain processed and unhealthy ingredients our F1C food packets are created with healthy produce and unprocessed meats. One F1C food packet will contain a meat, vegetable, and a starch enough for a fulfilling meal. Each F1C food packet will be light weight and can last for up to two months before consumption. The F1C food packets will be distributed to unsheltered homeless individuals and communities in crisis.
Mobile Refrigeration Unit (MRU)
Flight 1 Carriers will deploy mobile refrigeration units (MRU) into areas that are in an emergency state. The MRU can used to store medicine, food, and other items that require refrigeration or freezer type temperatures. The MRU are ideal for areas without a power source and to protect perishable items.
The consortium is a work group of designers, engineers, and fabricators who develop portable and self-sustaining products to support disaster response operations. The products created by the consortium will provide the tools needed for businesses, institutions, and service groups to continue to supply services to the general public during a crisis situation.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with researching available grants and funding sources to support program operations
Assist with writing grant proposals and letters of inquiry to solicit financial support
Support fundraising event activities
RequirementsKnowledge of Microsoft word, excel, and power point.
