DescriptionThe Aleph Institute is a Jewish organization that cares for the incarcerated and institutionalized. We provide advocacy, social services, religious and spiritual counseling, and reentry programs for individuals who are incarcerated or institutionalized including those in jails and prisons, patients in mental health and rehab facilities, and military service members. Our division Project Tikvah provides advocacy and intervention to youth who are struggling with mental health challenges and/or addiction.
We are seeking a Public Relations and Development intern to help us expand our infrastructure and increase the community's awareness of our organization. The Public Relations and Development intern will assist us with fundraising, research on potential donors, social media, and marketing. This is a great opportunity for undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent college grads to gain experience in the nonprofit sector and learn more about community outreach.
Responsibilities-Research potential donors for our organization
-Draft letters and emails to donors and potential donors
-Help manage our social media presence
-Assist with fundraising calls
-Design marketing materials for our organization including fliers and brochures
-Research foundations and other organizations that may partner with us in fulfilling our mission
Requirements-A passion for our mission and for helping people in isolated and restricted environments, as well as those who are struggling with mental health challenges or addiction
-Volunteer experience or experience in the nonprofit sector
-Knowledge and/or willingness to learn about the practices and beliefs of Orthodox Judaism
-Excellent research skills, writing skills, and interpersonal skills
