At Big Sister Association of Greater Boston we have been helping girls reach their full potential through positive mentoring relationships with women since 1951. We are the largest mentoring organization in Greater Boston exclusively serving girls.
Big Sister Association of Greater Boston is looking for a Recruitment Intern to support our volunteer engagement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy community outreach and engagement in a fast-paced environment and who want to learn how to plan, prepare, and execute events and work appropriately and effectively with external community partners. This is an unpaid position with a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities• Work with Recruitment Team in the administrative details associated with event planning and preparation as well as child and volunteer enrollment.
o Follow-up with families and community partners interested in enrolling girls into the program.
Clearly and accurately explain programs to families over the phone and answer any questions they have in regards to the enrollment process.
Finalize applications and work with internal staff to ensure timely follow-up.
o Conduct customer services calls and initial screenings to all prospective volunteers to determine program eligibility
Schedule assessments for prospective Big Sisters to meet with program staff.
Track observations and recommend enhancements to customer service and prescreening/scheduling process.
• Assist Manager of Recruitment in the administrative details associated to the Big-for-a-Day program
o Conduct follow-up phone calls to families participating in the Big-for-a-Day program to increase RSVPs and ensure participation.
o Track RSVPs for both Little Sisters and Big for a Day Big Sisters.
o Enter event data into data management system post Big-for-a-Day events.
RequirementsAverage 15 hours/week
Monday through Friday typically between 9am to 5pm. Flexible scheduling can include evenings and weekends.
