DescriptionThe Pacific, Education, Research, and Learning Institute of New York Inc. (P.E.A.R.L. Institute), is a non-profit organization in New York City, established by a group of professionals with a strong commitment to address the social policy as well as human service needs of individuals and families from different cultural backgrounds. The institute is dedicated to integrating Eastern and Western cultures and promoting optimal policy and service outcomes for the U.S. and Pacific Rim populations. The institute develops mutually beneficial partnership with overseas social work institutions, organizations and practitioners, and it is committed to the education, advocacy, research, and dissemination of information that functions in providing culturally competent social work practice and other related human services programs.
The P.E.A.R.L. Institute is currently seeking self-motivated individuals. The successful candidate must exhibit a strong passion and alignment with the mission of the P.E.A.R.L Institute. They must have solid research and analysis skills. The candidate must also have great judgment, strong organizational skills, strong written communication and the proven ability to work with multiple deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. The ability to work independently without supervision is critical. The ability to go with the flow in a fast paced, high-energy organization is the key to success in this internship.
ResponsibilitiesCollect and analyze data;
Enter research data and information into database;
Support aggregation and analysis of study data, as directed by senior research staff;
Plan, conduct, and manage research projects;
Responsible for appropriate use of research funds and resource;
Maintain accurate records of researches, safeguarding the confidentiality of information, as necessary;
Attend and contribute to team meetings, including working to set and achieve project timelines and deliverables;
Performing other duties as assigned.
RequirementsGraduate degree preferred.
Social science research background preferred;
Experience with research preferred;
