DescriptionOperation Hope is an organization for women, by women. Our purpose is to empower victims of human trafficking and abuse. The first step in recovering from the abuse, misrepresentation, and exploitation that our sistren face is through knowledge, support, and most of all, HOPE. We are a non-profit seeking to give a voice to the voiceless.
For this position you will be required to create a compelling video about the organization. The Owner will have a meeting on the overall goal however, it is up to you to make the vision come through. The position will be remotely completed but each intern will need check in to show progress by calling and texting daily updates. The Company's Owner or a Manager will meet with you.
Writing: Social Media Intern will need to know how to write effective copy in a lot of different styles, for websites, twitter, Facebook, etc. Knowledge of writing for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is also needed. Getting those Likes and Shares and Memes.
◾Research: Social media managers need to know what is happening in the fast changing world of social and digital media, what competitors are doing and what new measurement tools are being use.
◾Problem-Solving: Social media managers figure out how to best communicate a company's message on different platforms, and sometimes might need to convey sensitive issues or deal with inappropriate customers.
◾Organization: There are many different platforms, and new ones are being developed all the time. How you communicate on each, determining audience, and measuring tactics all take organization.
◾Interpersonal Skills: Even through writing, social media managers are a direct connection between a company and the public. Being friendly and approachable online will help.
◾Technical Skills: Social media managers work almost exclusively through computers. Understanding computers, SEO, internet access and being tech savvy is necessary.
Responsibilities- Utilizes social media to engage with a community of fans/followers online
- Coordinates online marketing and advertising campaigns
- Collaborates with internal departments on projects and assignments
- Demonstrates interest in social media and how media and communication strategies can continuously engage the online community
Requirements- Provide links to 1-3 social networking profiles to demonstrate interest and knowledge
- Possesses skills in writing, presentation, interpersonal relations, and customer management
- Performs well in environment that values creativity, flexibility, and variety
- Exhibits personal qualities, such as open-mindedness, enthusiasm, and adaptability
- Prefers challenges, fast pace, new ideas, future focus, and unstructured environment
