The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Social Media & Marketing Intern in our Philadelphia office. This role has a very high degree of creative freedom and visibility, and it requires abilities in multiple areas, including social media marketing, PR, event planning know-how, thought leadership, content creation, and relationship management.

Responsibilities

 Build and manage the American Heart Association’s social media profiles and presence,
including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and potentially additional channels (Snapchat, Vine,
LinkedIn, etc.).
 Collaborate in the creation of shareable content appropriate for specific networks to both spread
our brand and our content.
 Listen and engage in relevant social discussion about the American Heart Association, both from
existing customers and brand new audiences.
 Recruit and manage our new Social Media Ambassador Programs across the five state region of
Pennsylvania, Delaware, Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia.
 Identify and build relationships with prominent influencers and thought leaders in the health and
wellness space. Ensure that these relationships benefit both the American Heart Association and
individual.
 Match our internal content creation with external influencers who would enjoy receiving it or want
to contribute themselves.
 Brainstorm new, creative approaches to working closer with the influential

Requirements

 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a willingness to try creative
approaches to networking.
 Active and well-rounded personal presence on social media, with a command of each network
and their best practices.
 Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
 Bonus experience and skills include Adobe Creative Suite, demand generation marketing,
inbound marketing, and blogging.
