Description

Special Events Coordinator will be in charge with organizing a special event for a pet charity to benefit animals. The concept of the fundraising event is a zombie walk/run to take place in the fall. Would like an intern that has prior experience developing a special event and even better, experience organizing a run/walk type fundraiser where participants procure sponsors using their social media pages and they do individual fundraising-harnessing the power of the internet. Open to special event ideas of all types that are cost effective. This is an unpaid position.

Responsibilities

Intern will be self motivated, will be creative, will be responsible for organizing a special event that will raise funds to benefit animals. One idea for the event is a zombie run to take place in the Fall. Interested in the use of online fundraising (experience with leading running/walking teams in online sponsorships)-fundraising link on their social media page. Hopefully, the people can do the zombie run with their pet (in a carriage, in a backpack, in a pet cart) and perhaps at a school track site or at a public park.

Requirements

Good communication skills, good social media marketing skills, good fundraising skills. Prior experience organizing a special event for a charity is preferred.
