DescriptionDOROT offers an eight–week summer internship program for college students interested in careers in non–profit management, community organizing, social work and working with the elderly. Through a competitive process, we choose ten interns each summer.
The Internship provides students with an educational understanding of social isolation amongst the elderly and how DOROT addresses this issue and operates. We give each intern substantive work and project management experience. So while the work done by interns varies by department we are committed to entrusting interns with significant responsibility and providing them with an opportunity to contribute to their department in a real way.
Time commitment: Four days a week for nine weeks, depending on internship placement. There will not be internship on Fridays.
All interns will be at DOROT from Monday, June 5th through Thursday, August 3rd.
An internship day can begin as early as 9:30 a.m. and must be completed by 5:30 p.m.
If physically able, interns must be willing to walk 15-25 blocks.
