Teen Dating Abuse Prevention Educator
WHERE: ARIZONA ONLY (Expansion to other states expected in 2017)
Various High Schools and Community Organizations in Phoenix, Peoria, Glendale, Scottsdale Arizona
Required Training: September 23-25, 2016
Program Delivery: September 2016-May 2017
1 in 3 teens report experiencing abuse in their dating relationships
Our BLOOM365 prevention program goes into schools and community organizations and provides 7 "doses" of interactive teen dating abuse prevention and healthy relationship building education to teens.
We are looking 4-6 energetic, articulate, dependable and inspiring interns to join our Teen Dating Abuse Prevention Education team.
Minimum- 7 consecutive weekdays per month, plus training/prep/team building time
Maximum- 16 consecutive weekdays per month, plus training/prep/team building time
Responsibilities-Complete the required BLOOM365 Educator and Advocacy training
-Facilitate the delivery of the BLOOM365 teen dating abuse prevention and healthy relationship building curriculum in schools and partner organization to an audience of 13-18 year old teens (Each program runs for 7 consecutive weekdays. Program times will vary between 8 am and 3 pm M-F, with some flexibility in scheduling)
-Represent the BLOOM365 program with professionalism and passion for social change
-Facilitate positive prevention outcomes for the promotion of healthy relationships among future generations: change unhealthy attitudes to healthy, increase knowledge, motivate teens to take a stand, refer teen victims to help and support
Requirements-Passionate about teen dating abuse and domestic violence prevention
-Individuals who were exposed to domestic violence as children or who experienced teen dating abuse are encouraged to apply
-Experience with facilitating small and large group discussions and activities
-Articulate and strong communication skills
-Enthusiastic with the gift to inspire people to take action
-Successful completion of BLOOM365 Educator and Advocacy training
