DescriptionThe Center for Human Rights and Constitutional Law is a Los Angeles non-profit organization that focuses its work on the civil and human rights of insular minorities including immigrants, refugees, children, and indigenous peoples. We are looking for individual to begin on the Tents-4-Homeless project, which aims to address the homelessness crisis in Los Angeles County. It has been determined that the lack of access to shelter is one of the leading causes of homelessness. Since Los Angeles has the largest population of unsheltered homeless in the country, Tents-4-Homeless strives to alleviate this need through a variety of projects. This is a program hopes to benefit numerous individuals who are currently experiencing homelessness. Given the dynamic nature of the projects that Tents-4-Homeless aims to undertake, we are looking for an equally diverse group of individuals from all walks of life who are willing to undertake them. There are different aspects of the project that will require many different competences.

ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for individuals who can immediately begin in some of the following tasks:
1). Project coordination: this area will include duties like coordinating members of the team to distribute tents in the LA area
2) Social Media outreach: Since our project is still on a preliminary level, we need interns who excel in social media to promote activities or news that are related to our project. This area will include duties like being able to weekly produce a 500-600 words article
3) Research assistance: Homelessness is a structural phenomenon. Interns will be dedicating to research on the public policy that will help to tackle the issue of homelessness in Los Angeles
Schedule is very flexible. We understand that interns will have different responsibilities at times, we have no problem with interns working remotely. However, being available to contribute 5-10 hours per week minimum is necessary.
