Description

The Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) is a nonprofit, membership-based organization established in 1993 to promote business and investment between the United States and the nations of Africa.

In carrying out its mission, CCA provides a limited number of full-time and part-time Washington-based internship opportunities to motivated undergraduate and graduate students. CCA accepts applications for internships throughout the year. Interns conduct research and gather information on African andU.S. business relations and trade policy issues. In addition, they play an integral role in planning for our conferences, trade missions, sector programs, working group meetings, and special events. They also provide organizational and logistical support.

Qualifications:

Background or strong interest in global affairs

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Advanced computer proficiency

Strong research and analytical skills

High attention to detail

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

The cover letter must state dates of availability and the time commitment per week you would be able to devote to CCA. If you are unsure of your schedule, please include a projected date when this information will become available. Additionally, please indicate your area of interest within the Council (Research, Power, Energy, Infrastructure, Health, Marketing, Member Services, Agribusiness, Trade).

CCA provides a modest transportation stipend to its full-time and part-time interns. A minimum of 20 hours worked per week at the CCA office is required of part-time interns. CCA does not provide employee benefits to interns. Interns are also responsible for arranging their own accommodation in the Washington area. CCA will provide all work-related transportation.Lastly, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
