DescriptionFlorida Family Literacy Center Inc. provides mentoring for children who are struggling in school from Grades K-4th Grades. Our Volunteer Coordinator and Manager are required to perform the following duties and responsibilities.
Organizes, coordinates and manages the recruitment of volunteers for our organization.
Works with social, civic and local organizations to develop partnerships, where appropriate, to develop and/or utilize volunteers.
Develops and implements training programs for all volunteers.
Maintains updated records on all volunteers.
Attend training that will enhance and improve internship duties.
Sets up and attends volunteer meetings. Reports to staff on volunteer activities as needed.
Recommends and develops ongoing volunteer utilization.
Develops and implements a volunteer recognition program.

ResponsibilitiesThis internship position will also require to recruit volunteers through the internet and social media and other functions.
This position and role of volunteer coordinator internship position will require a timely monitoring and screening of volunteer applicants.
A key role for our volunteer coordinators interns will be in matching the skills, experiences and expectations of volunteers to available positions.
Volunteer coordinators could be responsible in working hand in hands with the program manager to ensure that volunteers and volunteers are performing their duties and responsibilities with precision and accuracy.
RequirementsCourse work and some training and experience in managing volunteers are essential. Abilities to follow directions and work without supervision. Basic computer skills required.

experience of managing or coordinating projects and volunteers (paid and/or unpaid);

excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a wide range of tasks;
competence with administration and IT, and an ability to maintain records and produce clear written and oral reports;
experience of working across different sectors and developing links with other agencies;
flexible and non-judgemental approach to people and work.
