DescriptionArts-Kids, Inc. is a non-profit in Summit County that offers a unique after-school youth development program that utilizes a variety of artistic mediums to encourage self-awareness and socialization through creative expression for children with diverse backgrounds, ages, special challenges and pressures. With the creative process and small dynamic groups, we promote self-motivation, individuality and self-esteem without a pressure for perfection or finishing a product. The expressive arts help children connect, and acts as a catalyst to open the creative spirit inherent in every child….so that child can thrive into adulthood, resilient and joyful. The mission of Arts-Kids is to provide our youth facing adversity with life skills through an after-school expressive arts program.
TWO Volunteer Engagement Intern positions available to cover the counties we serve (Summit, Wasatch, Salt Lake Counties). Internship is unpaid.
Hours: 10-15 hours/week. Flexible day hours. May require some nights and weekends.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you will be doing:
Assist with all new individual, group, and one-time volunteer applicants, providing an introduction to Arts-Kids and the areas of service available
Assist with recruitment fairs, present at informational meetings
Update volunteer intake tracking and attendance systems; process applications
Assist staff with tasks in preparation for spring, summer and fall recruitment season
Assist staff with creating effective strategies to increase community partnerships, community engagement
Assist staff with volunteer recognition projects
Recruit new volunteers
Create materials, structure, and training's to ensure quality control of the volunteer experience
Assist with data entry as needed
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft office
Must be able to multi-task
Must work well in a team setting
Arts-Kids is looking for MOTIVATED, ORGANIZED college, graduate, and non-student applicants over the age of 18. Applicants who are fluent in Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants with interest or experience in art, education, youth development, community development, family programming, and non-profit program management are encouraged to apply.
