The Caregiver Space
Posted: August 30 2016
Company Location: New York, NY
Application Deadline: Available Year-round
Position: 3 Part-time, Unpaid
DescriptionThe Caregiver Space is a start-up non-profit that is building a community of professional and family caregivers. We provide community support and help caregivers navigate available resources. By working with such a small team, you have an opportunity to contribute significantly to the organization and the work we do.
We are looking for a photographer to shoot portraits or candid photos of caregivers.
Many people who provide significant support to a disabled, ill, or elderly loved one don't identify with the caregiver label. We're looking to change the image of a caregiver and bring the community together.
We are located in New York, New York & Toronto, Ontario. This project can be done remotely.
ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a photography intern to locate caregivers and arrange for portraits or candid photos to be taken. Street photography is encouraged.
Each portrait will be accompanied by a short or long text about that person's caregiving experience.
Photo interns will then work with our director to use these photos in a social media campaign. We currently have accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and Pinterest. We'd be open to doing this as a Snapchat project as well.
Time requirements can be based upon the requirements of your academic program, if this is for credit.
