Connections

Description

Citizens for Rauner, Inc. is a political organization and campaign to get Bruce Rauner elected as governor of the state of Illinois.

Internship position:

Interns will be the eyes and ears of our grassroots organization. They are expected to be willing to help with every aspect of the campaign – ranging from organizing precinct walks to setting up political events.

Candidates for the summer internship are expected to work through challenges and take the initiative in developing creative outreach strategies.

Interns will connect with coordinators, local officials and campaign staff to build a schedule of events. While working, the interns will gain valuable connections and skills to further their desired career.

Social media management: this entails pushing Bruce's message as effectively as possible through social media outlets. "Liking" Bruce on Facebook, "following" him on Twitter, and joining our Rapid Response Team are the beginning steps to this.

Voter outreach: This entails strategically targeting voters based on location, political affiliation, and issue stance.

Phone banking and precinct walks: These are the most important grassroots activities interns will help us with. This is where elections are won. They will be responsible for organizing these days and getting volunteers to these events.

Organizing and participating in parades: Parades are a great example to display the size of support the campaign has. Interns will be required to attend these parades and recruit other supporters to participate.

Yard sign delivery: Yard signs are a form of advertisement that allow folks to display their support to neighbors and friends.

Other activities and responsibilities: helping with field opposition research, finance projects, database management, writing letters to the editor, and other various writing/research projects.

*Limited field paid positions
