The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) is a national non-profit organization that works to turn environmental values into national priorities. To secure the environmental future of our planet, LCV advocates for sound environmental policies, elects pro-environment candidates who will adopt and implement such policies, and provides state LCVs with the resources and tools to accomplish and sustain their mission. In Iowa, The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) seeks interns to assist with environmental issue advocacy, earned media, and grassroots lobbying activities in Des Moines, Iowa City, and Ames. Issue focuses will be on building support for reducing carbon emissions, encouraging executive action to clean up coal fired power plants and raising awareness about the need to address global warming. Successful interns will have excellent interpersonal skills, committed interest in environmental issues, and proficiency with Microsoft Suite and the capacity to learn new programs. No previous experience necessary. Class credit may be available depending on your school’s requirements.
