DescriptionThe Texas House Democratic Campaign Committee (HDCC) is seeking Fall 2012 interns who desire campaign and fundraising experience.
Hours for the position are flexible and will be determined based on the intern’s schedule. Office hours are 9am-6pm weekdays, with the potential for some late night and weekend work as needed. The Texas HDCC is interested in hiring unpaid interns who can work between 10-20 hours a week.
ResponsibilitiesJOB DESCRIPTION: Texas HDCC interns will assist full-time staff with fundraising, research and communication to aid Democratic Party candidates running for the Texas House of Representatives. In addition to working with HDCC staff, the intern will be in regular contact with elected officials, candidates, campaign staff, and affiliated organizations.
Requirements- interest in Texas politics.
- ability to use Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.
- good time management skills.
- desire to work in a high-pressure or short deadline environment.
- attention to detail.
- discretion when handling confidential information.
- excellent communication skills.
