DescriptionInternship: Joel Engardio for Supervisor
Spring, Summer and Fall for November 2016 election
Want to engage politically and socially with your community, learn how grassroots campaigns actually work and challenge yourself to be a better negotiator and public speaker?
Apply to join our “street team” of interns. You will help build neighborhood teams of volunteers and promote the vision of our campaign. We’re looking for motivated students and recent graduates who want to be part of a forward-looking campaign. Our goal is to make sure the next generation has a place in San Francisco’s future.
What is a Supervisor? It’s a member of the legislative branch of city government. There are only 11 supervisors and they have a say in many issues that can affect the lives of young residents who will want to live and work in San Francisco.
Who is Joel? Joel Engardio is a member of the Democratic County Central Committee, which governs the local Democratic Party. He is also an award-winning columnist for the San Francisco Examiner and has a day job at a tech company working to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. Joel worked many years for the American Civil Liberties Union, focused on issues like LGBT, immigrant and women’s rights. Last year, Joel married Lionel Hsu when the U.S. Supreme Court finally allowed same-sex marriage nationwide.
Joel will bring his sensible, pragmatic, cost-effective and innovative ideas to City Hall. But he needs your help to do it! For more information, please visit engardio.com.
