DescriptionAre you interested in working on one of the most complex, emotionally challenging issues of our day?
The National Association for Biomedical Research (NABR) is seeking candidates for a part-time, unpaid spring student internship to handle PR and outreach, government affairs, communications, and social media in our Washington, DC headquarters. Successful candidates should be working towards their undergraduate or graduate degree in political science and have an interest in politics, science, health, communications, writing, and law. We are seeking candidates with a can-do attitude who are strategic, independent thinkers with a keen ability to learn and make an impact. If you’re looking to learn the ropes in government affairs, advocacy, and public relations in the DC non-profit association world, we want to hear from you. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the dynamics of challenging issues and strategies for effectively reaching the public, key policymakers and constituencies. Background in science not necessary but an interest is helpful.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous internship experience seeking undergraduate or graduate degrees in political science or similar fields. The ideal candidate must also possess strong research skills; attention to detail; self-motivation; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; excellent oral, written, proofreading and interpersonal communication skills; a good sense of humor with a high level of professionalism; the ability to work independently and as a team player; and the ability to learn quickly and continuously.
Please send cover letter, resume, and one writing sample to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject, “Spring 2016 Internship.”
