Advisors Ahead is an exciting new firm connecting recent graduates with financial services employers. We have launched an innovative model to better prepare candidates to succeed as Financial Advisors or Financial Planners.
Advisors Ahead is working with major financial service firms to prepare, train and connect students to permanent jobs through our unique curriculum. Candidates will have the potential opportunity to move into permanent full-time positions at the end of the program.
The Resident Program is a full-time paid position for 52 weeks. Residents are placed in offices across the United States.
The Resident Program follows a comprehensive Experience Guide to ensure structure and engagement. The Guide provides detailed information about the structure of the Resident Program on a weekly basis including the assignments, analysis and experiences expected. Each Resident will be provided with a lead manager at his or her location. Weekly checkpoints will be used to provide additional opportunities to share information and to assess progress.
As an Advisors Ahead Resident, you will work with a dynamic group of financial professionals while gaining hands-on exposure in financial planning, wealth planning, marketing strategies, business operations, portfolio analysis, client acquisition and client management areas.
ResponsibilitiesEach Resident will have a range of assignments providing a broad overview, introduction and foundation for success in the financial services business including:
o Rotation through the business units at the location to gain an understanding of the business approach and roles of different components of the business
o Orientation to the industry as well as well as the specific firm and the team employing the Resident
o Participate in the steps to prepare financial planning proposals for clients
o Perform market analysis to identify business development opportunities
o Work with assigned teams to assist with client acquisition opportunities
o Use your knowledge of social media tools to develop marketing strategies
o Observe operational and business meetings and client interactions with various team members
o Prepare and study to obtain Series 7 and 66 licenses and CFP designation
Requirementso Current College graduate, or graduating senior, with a BA/BS, or Masters, with coursework in Financial Planning, Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics
o A strong interest in personal financial planning and wealth management
o A passion to help people manage their financial futures
o A team player, with willingness to go above and beyond to deliver excellence
o Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
o PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
o Complex and creative problem solving ability
o A 3.3+ Grade Point Average
