Description
The Animal Care Intern will help with all aspects of daily animal upkeep. This includes but is not limited to: diet preparation, cleaning enclosures, weighing patients, bottle-feeding orphaned babies, administering medications and vaccinations, and animal intakes. These tasks can be labor intensive so you must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
The position is unpaid and no housing is offered. Schedules are flexible, but you must commit to working at least 8 hours per week. You must attend the intern orientation on Saturday, May 25 from 1-3 pm. Responsibilities
Animal care and cleaning duties such as, animal intakes, exams, medication administration, vaccinations, animal weight checks, feeding of adult and baby wildlife, rescues, releases, and more. You will learn all aspects of wildlife care at a rehabilitation center and train under experienced staff.
Requirements
No previous animal care experience necessary. Applicants must be comfortable in a fast paced environment, be able to work independently and with others well, be in good physical condition and be working towards a degree in a related field.
